The London Safeguarding Children Board will be updating the London Child Protection Procedures in line with the revised Working Together to Safeguard Children (2010) Guidance.
Professionals should note that Chapter 8 of Working Together, relating to Serious Case Reviews supersedes the previously published guidance in Section 19 of the London Child Protection Procedures.
A Ministerial Statement from the Department of Education issued on 10th June 2010 announced further changes to Chapter 8 of Working Together (2010) in relation to the publication of Serious Case Reviews (SCR). New SCR's initiated on or after this date should publish the final Overview Report together with the Executive Summary. Both reports should be anonymised and comply with the Data Protection Act 1998.
Professionals should note that all references to the publication of Executive Summary Reports in Chapter 8, including Flowchart 7, should be read as meaning publication of both the Overview Report and the Executive Summary.
